Moving to the USA (but need to pay alot off first)

Hi guys
Im a long time lurker here but am taking this opportunity to post as it's very very quiet in work and also because ive made a big life chaging decision.
Myself and my partner are going to be moving to the US next year. Im pretty close to being offered a soccer scholarship over there and am really excited to make the move. I see this whole recession as a great opportunity to get the degree i crave and come out the other end of it much better qualified than I am now.
Anyway, back to the reason Im posting.
I have approximately 20k worth of debt to pay off before i leave. Yes, i could keep paying it while Im over there but i really really want a clean slate so that I can concentrate all my efforts on my football and my study. Any money i make over there can be just pocket money then.
Ive just today paid off my 2k credit card with money from my ISA (great feeling by the way), as i was paying more interest than what I was earning. Now Ive just got 2 loans to tackle. The 1st is a Barclays loan of 11k and the second is a Halifax loan of 9k. My plan of attack is to get Xmas out of the way and put between 4&500 aside each month til I leave in an attempt to pay off as much of the loans as I can.
When I leave I will also sell my car and that will give me approx £4500 too.
By my calculations, that will leave me with around 9k to pay off when Im ready to leave in 2009.
Now the purpose of this post is to put all my thoughts down in writing so I can have a clearer understanding of my own mess (a diary i suppose) but secondly i'm looking for advice. If any of you helpful lot know of any ways I can make money online maybe, or just about anyway I can chip away at that debt, then I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance to any of the help and advice I recieve
Regards,
RhysC

Have you considering moving the loans to a 0% credit card. I have just cleared my last 0% credit card as the rate runs out in February. Like you I decided to clear it with my ISA as the savings rates are dropping.
I am now looking to move my car loan to a 0% card as there will be savings in the interest (even with the transfer fee) and more importantly the ability to pay it back quicker as I am not restricted by paying the normal loan payments. I will knock 2.5 years off the debt, which is the most important thing to me and be debt free by December 2009.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100
