ring - reserve question

Hi
Hoping someone can help. I'm looking at rings on website for some ideas as after being together for ever my OH has asked me to marry him:j

Typical MSE'r that I am I'm now browsing for bargains although he's being a bit funny about buying me a ring from argos ;)
But I've found a nice ring I would like to look at but none of the rings seem to be able to reserve - anyine have any suggestions on why?

    Congrats :D

Would it be something to do with being able to check the ring size?

Or maybe they have to be ordered in depending on your ring size? Maybe they dont keep huge stocks of rings in every size in every store?

Don't think Argos lets you reserve ANY rings - I think it is because they are available in different sizes - you can always call the store and check if they have the ones you want to look at in stock though if that helps? Congratulations on your engagement :D

Thanks very much - I've emailed them to ask how I can look at it as I've noticed some other rings say you can look in store but this one doesn't?

So an honest opinion please as your total stangers - is it bad to buy your engagement ring from argos???

I really dont think it matters where it is from.

If you like it, have it.

If you're really worried about the 'stigma' of it being from Argos then just dont tell anyone.

All that matters is your happiness.

My husband got me my engagement ring ( 229/7347)from Argos (for our 3rd wedding anniversary, couldn't afford one when we got engaged).

He got me to mark in the catalogue the type of ring I liked (I think there was about 10 I circled) and I went to the store to check my size and then left it up to him.

    He made a good choice.

    Congratulations!

Tell you what, let me know your nearest store and your ring size, I'll try to see if I can hunt around to find you one there or nearby while I'm at work tommorow.

A brief word of warning, that ring looks like it's about to go 'RO'. Stock may be limited.

If I can find one I'll reserve it for you to take a look in the store at your leisure.

    Regards,
    SomeGuy.

Thanks SomeGuy but I've beaten you to it :D got it this afternoon and sitting typing and admiring it just now!
We went to look at it and really liked it. Then went to Argyll Arcarde (posh jewellery arcade in Glasgow) and saw exactly the same ring for £600 and it was also the nicest one so decided to go back and buy it - officially engaged and got a great bargain, so very :j
