If I wanted to open an internet business,could I register a trust company in say Gibralter(Tax haven),and let it just operate in cyberspace?

Check with an accountant or tax advisor, but I think it will depend upon who actually controls the day to day operation of the business and where they are based. So if it's you who operates the business and you are in the UK then the UK tax man will want his share.0
