Just got my SIL to buy me two new shining sealed tins so I am ready for the off. I have already got some coins stashed away in another jar but this is easily accessible so will transfer all that into the two pots (one for £1/£2 coins) and the other for the rest of my loose change. I will count that when I put it in, however, after that I will not be keeping a tally as I want a nice surprise when I open at the end of the year.

Good luck everyone and you really keep me motivated and inspired.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:

    Good luck to all.

    I'm sure you'll cope :D

Another 40p in my pot today and I took the first peek through the slot - it's doing quite well (1/2 full). Will need to go to the gym more so that I can finish another tub of energy drink and make myself a new sealed jar. Saw lovely glass cookie jars for £1.26! in Ikea, but managed to restrain myself from buying one. The new mantra is very much 'don't buy it if you can get it for free/make it'.

Can I please join and have a number???
Picked up 2 sealed tins from BHS (you have to open then with can opener - they are pretty big, probably x3 times the size of an average tin of beans) this morning for £1.50 each they have 'Saving for a car' written all over them but could easily be covered over with old wrapping paper etc if you don't like the design. Bizarrely the tins with 'Saving for a holiday' on them were still full price at £3. They might come down even more before the sales finish, there were tons there so obviously not popular.
Weighed my tin at 127g then proceeded to fill it with loose coins and the contents of a large and cracked pub size spirits bottle that is becoming dangerous to keep now so has gone into glass recycling box. I will weigh again at the end of January.
    Thanks for the inspiration guys
Target will be £500 by end of year to pay off mortgage

  • I am getting addicted to this already - so much so, I offered to pull out all the sofa cushions to 'hoover' and that earned me £1.20!! Loving it....
