WARNING to users £50 off for £50 spend at littlewoods code

I have just noticed a thread with a Littlewoods code, the thread has quite rightly been closed so i have started this one.
As an ex employee I can translate this code, after placing the order you will have received this message:***** - GBP 50 RAF LW LWD FF

(The stars I have added to blank the code and prevent further use)
GBP 50 = currency and amount of discount
RAF = Recomend a friend
LW LWD = Littlewoods LittlewoodsDirect
FF= Friends and Family

This code is given as a reward to customers who have recomended so many of their friends and family who have in turn placed an order.

I did not work in the catalogue department but in finance and I can say with 99.99% certainty the code will not be honoured.

I cancelled my order this morning as I can smell trouble with this. I'd rather get out now than having to chase things up - keep it simple.
I still think Littlewoods have to share the blame with these codes and perhaps make them more specific and each one to be used only once.
These "glitches" will be abused as most are, it's human nature, and sites like MSE etc. highlight these errors, it has a massive following.

Do i have to phone them up to cancel? I cant see anything online for cancelling my order. I'd seen the code, thought bonus but hadn't realised it was so specialist - i don't want them looking for the money months down the line etc

my order arrived this morning!!
money has not been taken from my bank..will they take it after the 14 days?
it was something i was going to get anyway so it dosen't matter if they take the full amount bonus if they don't!

That's a good position to be in, but if you have only ordered thinking it was free remember it may take them a couple of weeks to chargeback the discount, by then you maybe out of your 14 day return period and so have to pay for the goods.

i agree with Princess Coupon - they have well been known for asking for the money back. The items I bought were already in my basket so it makes no odds to me whatsoever - all of it was stuff the kids had asked for and stuff we'll be keeping regardless!

Littlewoods have now taken the full amount from my bank,but b4 they did they credited me £50 into my account:T
As said b4 it was something i was going to buy anyway so had budgeted for the full amount.Even if they claim back the £50 later it would be like having something on buy now pay late, interest free:j

I phone css last night and was told as I had order confirmation it was a good code. He even asked his supervisor.

I have an account with littlewoods. I used this code and full amoutn came out. However, I phoned them and you do get a refund once items are despatched. They confirmed this on phone. I am not bothered anyway as needed the stuff and can afford to pay it anyway but I think its worth a try. I know they have stopped the code today anyway to prevent further orders. They should take some responsibility whatever.

I have tried to use the code and although it worked online, they have not deducted the £50 on the confirmation email I've had back. I have just phoned their customer services and they have said that this code is not valid unless you have received it direct from Littlewoods in an email to you. So don't bother using this, you won't get it! BUT - they do have 3 for 2 on all clothes at the moment and it includes the sale stuff online too! I've ordered a pair of Mens Fred Perry trainers, A Fred Perry polo top and a Lacoste polo top all for total of £83, then I'll get 10% commision, making net price of £74.70,not bad for my sons Xmas pressie - all designer clothes!
