Xmas eve is my daughter 5th birthday. So it's a bit busy in our house.

Thankfully, DS is just 2, and he is in bed by 6pm and asleep very soon after. When DD was younger, Christmas Eve was about reading the Christmas Story (both nativity and night before christmas), Christmas videos, hot chocolate and a few biscuits, and relaxing with a fairly early bedtime.

I picked up a bargain in woolies this morning- paint your own plate kit reduced to £1.50 and they're on 3 for the price of 2! thought they could decorate them xmas eve bake them in the oven to set them, then use them to eat xmas dinner the next day :j
they've also got mugs , bowls etc reduced to same sort of price and on the special offer.
Hopefully it will keep them occupied for a little while.

I remember when I was little (and my mum still does this for my 12 year old sister) we used to get a "Present From The Elves" to open and keep us busy. A little something, usually a board game or something creative. As we only got one present and a stocking on xmas day this prolonged the festiveness and made us feel really lucky that we had an extra thing to open!
