I have childcare deducted from my salary so it saves on national insurance and tax the amount that is deducted from salary is £128 a month but it actually costs me £314 a month. £128 comes out of my salary every month regardless if the children are in child care or not.
To be honest this is the 1st time CTC have taken the childcare into consideration The amount of time the children went into Child care increased as of the 1st September. I have always told them about changes in childcare but this is the 1st time I have ever qualified for itand didnt expect it.

You can't claim Child Tax Credits childcare element AND claim childcare from your salary. You'll end up with a massive overpayment!
Stick with the salary one, it sounds like it's good value.
Give Tax Credits a ring and let them know they've made a mistake, talk to a Team Leader if necessary. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
You can gemmzie. The salary claim is for vouchers which you use to pay for the childcare therefore it is part of your salary the perk being you don't pay NI on it. The cost of childcare as far as wftc is concerned remains the same wether you pay by vouchers or cash. You generally get a 70% rebate on your childcare costs reagrdless of method of payment.LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0

I have been on the phone with child tax credits today re overpayments and I did an income and expenditure form with them. So they are fully aware of my childcare costs and how I pay them.
