They seem very expensive! I was hoping to get one for a good price but am struggling. Anyone know any good deals?

Argos did have one on offer for £150 not sure if it is still around...0

Blockbuster are doing a deal at the moment for a Sony Bluray dvd player and 6 free blue ray films for £199.
We collected ours today. You get 4 films with it and then when you register the player on the Sony website, they send you another two films. The films it comes with are Mama Mia, Hancock, Wall e and Iron Man, and then Sony are sending a Batman Move and Casino Royle.
As far as I know the deal is only available instore, I can't see it mentioned on their website.

Yep, BushBD01 here for £150. PFD10 gives you free delivery and a £10 voucher.
Same price Samsung BD-P1400 here from play.com (it's £225 in Currys!)
Or Sony BDP-S300E here for £146.77
Sony BDP-S350 here for £1550 -
I collected my Sony Blu-ray from Blockbuster today, I was given 4 Blu-rays instead of the 6 advertised on the mag, and told like Jog to register and collect the other 2 disks (this is not part of the advertised deal on the back of their magazine), nor was I told how to collect the 10 free rentals (also part of the deal on the back of the magazine). The registration cd does not connect me to the sony website. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Regards to all0

I made a mistake in my previous post, the 10 rentals are half price, not free. I've found it is a Sony promotion, rather than BB, this offer is only on to the 15th of Jan, so they should have a few Blu-rays in stock:
HERE ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE PROMOTION
1. Customers purchasing the BDP-S350 or/and BDP-550 Blu-ray Disc™ players from Sony between 15/09/08 and 15/01/08 inclusive from participating outlets are entitled to claim by redemption the following two movies on Blu-ray Disc ™: Batman Begins and Casino Royale. This offer is subject to availability.
2. The participating Blu-ray Disc™ players from Sony for this promotion are the BDP-S350 or/and BDP-550.
3. This offer is available in the United Kingdom & Ireland.
4. To claim these two movies on Blu-ray Disc™ you must register the product and complete the online survey via the CD-ROM included with the product.
5. All claims must be received by 31/01/09. No claims will be accepted after this date.
6. No responsibility can be accepted for claims that are lost, damaged or delayed in transit. Sony accepts no responsibility or liability for any technical, hardware, software, server, website or other failures or damage of any kind.
7. Claims not completed in accordance with these terms and conditions will be deemed void.
8. Please allow 28 days for receipt of Batman Begins and Casino Royale on Blu-ray Disc™
9. If you have not received any discs within 28 days of registering the product and completing the survey, or if the discs are found to be defective or damaged on delivery, Sony must be notified within 7 working days via http://www.sony.co.uk/support otherwise the discs will be deemed to have been accepted as delivered. This does not affect your statutory rights which cannot be excluded at law.
10. In the event that the discs become unavailable for whatever reason, Sony reserves the right to provide alternative discs of equivalent value.
11. By completing the survey to redeem Batman Begins and Casino Royale on Blu-ray Disc™, applicants will be deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
12. There are no cash or credit alternatives available.
Part 4 is all well and good, but my Phenom triple-core takes 10 minutes trying to connect to the website, then gives up. Nice one Sony!!:mad:0 -
