    you have to say in advance for voluntary work (and a 2 day break would have linked so he would still have ended up with things after 6months)
  • Thanks claire c, I thin he only told them the day before he was due to go because he wanted to sign on early. Maybe that's why they stopped it.

    I've been doing voluntary work for a charity for the last 3 months and it hasn't affected anything.

    It does have to be a registered charity though.

    It was Christian Aid!

    He was not doing it at home though but in a different town and was stasying in the town for the Saturday, Sunday and Monday, returning home on Tuesday..

    Don't know whether that has anything to do with it.

    Mine wasn't a registered charity. It was a company.
