I want to be debt free

Got around £14000 worth of debt and am paying £10 a month to most of the debt recovery agents which means i have no interest to pay.

Some of the debtors however won't accept £10 a month even though this is all i can afford.

What can i do?

Andy

Hi - well they can't have what you haven't got. If that is all your can afford then that's what you need to pay them - but pay them what you can as if they were to take you to court then you can show that you are doing your best.
The best bet would be to do a SOA - see the sticky thread for new posters. An SOA is basically a list of every incoming and outgoing and every bill you owe. It will provide a snapshot of your finances and let people see what the best option is for you at the moment as it is hard to be specific without seeing all the details.

I presume these bills are credit card bills or suchlike? You need to concentrate on your rent/mortgage , council tax, electric/gas, food and any loans secured on your house as these are the priority bills.

If you don't feel able to post your SOA (although it is the best course of action) don't forget there are organisations out there who can help - National Debline, your local CAB and CCCS.

Hope this gives you a few things to get started - there will be more suggestions but didn't want to overload you to begin with.

    Best of luck
