Tips for cheap treats

WANTED........ tips for things that you consider a 'treat' but at minimal expense to cut the outgoings
For example, I have stopped buying my lunch every day at work.
I now take my lunch Mon - Thurs
Friday is my 'treat day' when I will buy a sandwich or lunch from a cafe with colleagues.
Also, If anyone out there likes to be pampered now and again but really can't afford or justify the prices anymore, Check to see if your local college runs a beauty course, I was talking to a trainee beauty therapist today and they are always looking for clients to train on, you can get a full manicure for £4 or a full facial for £5 which compared with salon prices is VERY cheap!
What does everyone else do to treat themselves whilst keeping the costs down?

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

We have changed our 'girly' social evening from dining out to going to one anothers houses and all taking a contribution. we prefer to do that now, we arrange for the man of the house to go out and get completely silly, most of the times no alcohol involved as we are driving, but we have a ball! I know we still spend some money on food/petrol but costs gone from£25pp to £5 approx.

I quite like that idea, because I decided this year as I'm buying my first house to cut out unecessary expenses, so all this week I've brought lunch from home, although it would be nice to have a treat day, so I might start doing the Friday thing too.0 -
We always have a 'takeaway night' on Fridays which is budgeted for and is a nice treat!Mortgage-free wannabe!0

I would call myself a miser (despite the fact I have student loans, they were unavoidable
), but this month my husband suggested we have an "allowance" every month. I was dubious but agreed. Well, I'm so glad I did now! I have a set amount every month that I can spend guilt free!
It feels really good to know that I can treat myself without having to worry about or try to justify. Today I bought something I've had my heart set on but didn't allow myself to buy before Christmas, and it's a good feeling.I'm an American living in Oxford using the exchange rate to my advantage. I started taking lunches in this year too, I'm surprised that I'm actually really enjoying it and being cheaper and healthier too.
The treats thing does sound like a good idea, my budget is a bit harsh at the moment but I know I'll be so much happier if I manage to stick to it. I think I'll try to keep my costs to a real minimum and if I haven't spent all I'd budgeted for, maybe use the rest to buy myself a treat.
I always use my Boots points for treats too, I buy my essentials from there (often taking advantage of the 3 for 2's and BOGOF's also!) but then use the points to treat myself on something I could never justify buying.0 -
I agree with you all...
It is important to have some brief respite from the cause. It is akin to those who are successful when losing weight...a small treat is rewarding psychologically.
Keep up the good work. The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics(sic) or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.
