free jewellery cleaning

i went to pick my repaired ring up yesterday from ernest jones and was told that they will clean jewellery for free anytime even if it was not originally bought there!!!!thats good to know because some shops like beaverbrooks use this as a selling technique they say you can have lifetime cleaning card when you buy engagement ring here!!!!!!!!!hope you all have nice shiny clean jewellery from now on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :j

I always put my rings / jewellery in a glass of coke over night this seems to do the trick

scewz me for being *thick*:o but you telling me I can take my jewellery and just ask to have it cleaned??? :cool: they will do it for nothing?? are you sure!?!? what about diamonds.. I have been looking up whats the best way to keep them clean... thanks!pash x

The reason they can afford to be so generous is that most people leave stone rings for cleaning. To clean these rings they put them into an Ultrasonic cleaner. This shakes the ring until its clean. Any stones that are loose or held in with dirt will come out. If this happens they will charge you to reset the stone. Having a stone set in a major retailer will cost you about 3 times the amount you would pay an independent jobbing jeweller and goldsmith. Usually the same person will do the work they will just mark up the repairers price.

They didn't repair o/p's ring for free the price was included in the repair, Even if they told them it was free.GONE ENGLAND0 -
It is free read the OP.
I dont use them, i just leave mine in coke over night its seems to take all the rubbish off them.
