Here's the deal:-
My wife and I are in our overdrafts and have a joint loan (for home improvements) but on good wages and both got good credit ratings with all the agency's.(recently received our full credit scores)
Recently applied for a 18k loan over 4 years for home improvments (we like to add value to our house's we live in so are constantly doing them up) with the post office, they didn't decline or accept but stated they need to check certain things (?) and they would call us back next day.
My question is, what the hell are they gonna check? my inside leg measurement? My cat's name? What the weather is gonna be like at the weekend? Do they mean check with my employer etc? Not too concerned but would be nice to know the range of things they are likely to check?
Cheers in advance for any advice!0 -
Hi,
This is shortened version of what has happened to us;
In August 2009 we used our touring caravan as a deposit to buy a static caravan on a caravan site.
To finance the remaining costs we took out an agreement with black horse.
We have enjoyed the static caravan and the site it is on for three seasons now.
Each year the site has added extra costs and raised the annual site fees.
Summer 2011 Nigel, my husband was made redundant from his job and so we looked to tighten our belts and cancelled any luxuries we did not need.
As we were tied into the payments to black horse we realised that the best thing would be to cut down the associated costs of having a caravan.
We decided that we should move the caravan to a site that was cheaper on site fees annually and would be closer to home to save on petrol costs.
We found a site and started to pack up our caravan in order that we could move it before the site fees for 2012 would be due.
We contacted black horse to let them know what we were doing not thinking there would be any problem, after all we had never missed a single payment and this would allow us to continue to pay even though it would be a struggle.
Black horse have said that we cannot move our caravan until October 2012 and told us to look at item 4.5 in our contract.
This item says that we cannot re site sell our caravan unless we get permission from them and that this would be at their discretion.
We asked why they would not give permission.
We have been told that Black horse have an agreement with this particular site that guarantees a buy back sum for the first three years should we default on our payments and the three years doesnt run out until October 2012.
We were never told about this agreement by either Black horse or the caravan site.
In effect, the site could raise their site fees by 100% at any time and we would still have had to pay.
We are not in a position to afford the high site fees now that my husband has lost his job.
These site fees are due on the 1st March 2012.
It is looking more and more that we may have to simply walk away from our beloved caravan having lost everything that we have paid so far, that is the whole deposit and three years worth of finance payments, this is in excess of £20,000.
The finance company get to keep all of the payments we have made so far and the caravan site get to resell the caravan, so both companies win and we lose everything.

Hi
I have 4 credit cards totalling £7900. I've been paying them off for a while and not spending on them but they don't seem to be going down too much. I'm not having trouble meeting min payments and I'm paying over the min payment were possible, no missed payments but I thought I'd consolidate them into 1 loan.
I had a credit rating of 853 and so thought I'd apply for a Clydesdale loan and got turned down and my credit rating dropped to 811. I left it a few weeks and then applied for one with Nationwide and they've declined me too. Didn't think my credit rating was that poor so I'm really surprised. Credit Expert did a recommend a loan bit on their website and they've come up with Everyday Loans.
Can anyone advise please because I'm very confused.

Hello...
I want to borrow £50,000 secured on my flat (Market Value circa £130,000) which is mortgage free for just 1 year.
At the end of that year I will pay back the whole amount and the accrued interest.
Problems: I am not in the UK or in employment...
Any ideas ?0
