Wanting to get into childcare training

Can anyone give me some advice or info please..I live on the border of Lincs and Notts and am wanting to get into work based training and train for an NVQ in childcare...the problem is I have a 9 month old and I can't afford to put him into nursery whilst I train, my mum has offered to look after him on a Thurs and Fri but most place arn't flexible enough for me to just work set days. Does anyone know where I can get a worked based placement that would be more flexible or can anyone give me any info on how I can get free childcare? Please help as I have just lost my job and I am desperate to find something else..thanks

If you are 19 or under you are entitled to free child care while you are on a college course (Care To Learn).
If you are over 19 you could do NVQ 1 in childcare online i believe, however you could find a nursery who trains you up whilst you work, so you would need to find a job that enables you to do this. Then since it is paid employment as a nursery assistant you would be entitled to working tax credits etc and help towards some child care. Hope this helps
