Can banks change the date they deduct loan repayments?

Please advise. I took out an unsecured loan with Halifax and consolidated my debts. They started by taking repayments either on my payday or the day after. For the last 2 months, they have taken out money a day before and charged me £35 each time for having insuficient monies in my account. I've called them and they 'advise' me that they can't change this!!!!
As I'm already being royally screwed by the CSA, I can't afford this as it means I have less money to spend on my son!
Many thanks in advance

what does you loan agreement say... often the DD is phrased ... will come out on or after...xx
if it does then make a written complaint
otherwise you need to ensure there are sufficent funds to pay before the end of the month as paying £35 each month is bad news and may go down on your credit report as a late payment
In future, and where possible, make sure that DD go out of your account at least 5 days after pay day to avoid issues like this.EU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%

The company has to give you 10 days notice under the Direct Debit agreement if they are changing the date of your direct debit.
Happened to me before and I got the charge back to migh be an idea to fight your corner on this one. Google *direct debit agreement* and I think there is an official site which will have more info0
