Digital Camera advice - spending around £80ish

hi,

I would like a camera for Christmas so am researching the one to buy. I think I will be likely to spend around £80-£100.

The research Ive done so far suggests that I will definitely need to be rechargable/rechargable batteries because I cant be doing with it running out all the time. I want to be able to take good pics and be able to edit etc (I already have some photoshop software). I prefer quality as opposed to any fancy colours.

I know nothing about pixels etc.

Any advice?

Jen

Theres very little (if any) visable difference between 5/6 mega pixel and above cameras in normal size photo's I have a 7 mega pixel camera and with 8" pictures it looks absolutely fine. Pixels is how many dots the camera can produce in a given space.

    I'd personally recommend this
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casio-EX-Z80-Compact-Digital-Camera/dp/B0012NNM7W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1228088563&sr=8-1

as it seems a good deal atm, both me and my mum have Casio's and are very happy with them.

    HTH

EDIT: Sorry forgot to say, its best to go for a higher mega pixel camera if you want to produce large photo's i.e A2 size...this camera says its suitable up to A3 size.

    Hi,

I love taking photos and have done for a long while, If you can stretch and extra £9 to 109 then you could get a canon ixus 80, (at amazon, possible to get vouchers/discount too?)

I have the ixus 75 and love it to bits, great camera, takes photos in all conditions and has a rechargable battery like you asked for too. More than enough pixels flying about through it, and spot on colour representation!
Oh, and a huuuuuge screen :)

Just my opinion, if you find any others that your interested in though id be willing to comment on them, sony have a few about at the moment that are worth a look at too.

None whatsoever, I love it to bits!

I can probably post some example pictures that I have taken with it if your interested?

I got mine from jessops getting on for a year ago, 1200 pictures later and its still going well. Just make sure to get at least 1gig memory or itll be gone before you know it.
  • hi,

I just asked price runner to find the cheapest retailer and I cant get it under £140....

It looks like a amazing camera.

Amazon is 109 for sure, looking at it just now..

I know they use dynamic links so this might not work, but worth a try

Hope this one works for you
