Just had an email from DEll Outlet - £100 off and free delivery at the moment .. I havd a quick look and they had quite a few systems with the following spec ( i.e Dimnesions 5150's with a 256 graphics card)

Dimension 5150 Pentium 4 Processor 630 with HT technology (3.00GHz, 800MHz fsb, 2MB cache)

System Price £457.03
Dell recommends Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional

Operating System: English - Win XP SP2 Home
Memory: 1G Memory, 2 X 512mb (400, 512)
Hard Disk Drive: 160GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive

Ignore the Sytem price .. once you select the £100 off button after adding to basket and then look at the Vat incl price it comes to £419.42. Not bad for this spec although no screen you can add one before checkout.

Some good lappy prices in the Outlet store as well.

Inspiron 1300 with 15.4" screen for £357 delivered, which is £439 in the main store for same spec
    British Ex-pat in British Columbia!
  • I cant find any Dell Inspiron 1300 on the outlet store. But i have found one on the normal Dell website for £455.34, i chose a TV tuner with that aswel. Do you think i could get it for less and on finance on the outlet (provding i could find one?)

Actually you can get a better price for a screen elsewhere.. but need to take delivery into account.. try aria .. tempted to replace DS's pc as he seems to hog our laptop with it having a good graphics card! Actually can anybody tell if there's much of a difference between the 9150 and 5150 ?

You have to keep checking back if you want a particular thing.. only credit cards and switch I'm afraid. But you do have the same protection.. I've rejected things from outlet within the 7 days .. hint .. sometimes if you do that they offer another discount.. but that isn't guaranteed. They will just arrange a pickup if you are unhappy. Other than 1 machine that I rejected - really because it looked well used, everthing else I have bought has been brand new .. still with the film on the screens etc (laptops). This is where a lot of Ebay sellers get their stock - that's why you have to keep checking back - they tend to nab anything with a good graphics card quickly.

Sorry hit Thanks button instead of 'quote.' still answer

    yes anyone can buy.

yes they are to quote Dell site -

'This is product, which has been returned to Dell for a variety of reasons such as cancellations and specification changes and is limited in quantity.* '

As I said earlier .. evry ssytem I have bought bar one has looked brand new to me. A lot of the are Doa (dead on arrivals) which have been returned and then fixed - loose wire etc..
