Not sure if this is the right place so feel free to move it if necessary.ex h is developing a pattern of being on JSA for a few months then going to the uSA for a few months. I suspect he is working overseas to try and avoid the csa/legal costs then nipping back to play the 'poor me im on the dole' for a few months. Can anyone do this, keep working abroad then living here half the time and paying no tax/child support etc and get away with signing on?
is he being fraudulent? Oh i hope so, pleeese!

If he is doing it without declaring it, then it sounds like benefit fraud.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

I also would not know on what basis he is employed in the USA. It is a criminal offence to emply someone without a visa valid for work in the US. He is liable to deportation as well. I would suggest you take legal advice if you have suspicisions.0

I would think what he is doing is illegal but the British Government does not keep track of who enters and leaves the UK so there would be very little chance of him getting caught. The US government computers would definately not talk to the British Government computers. Going overseas to avoid paying CSA is a common practice. When applying for benefits in the UK they will ask you if you have just arrived from living overseas, I guess he would just tick the box that says 'No'. If you want to get him into trouble then all it takes is one phone call to the benefits fraud office, not a nice thing to do though, and it could backfire in your face, if he found out it was you no doubt he would voice his displeasure to you and make your life a misery.0

Basically YES it is fraud. When you sign on you are declaring you have no income what so ever. Just because you are working abroad dont think it doesn't count and as you are signing on here you are saying that you are a resident of the uk you willbe chraged tax on your foregin earnings. Either sign of or stop working ( ideally sign of )Money's too tight to mention!!!0
