Hello, we moved house this year and I've just got the Christmas tree down from the cupboard and the bit that goes on the bottom to make it stand up is missing :-( Quick search of the house has not had any luck..
Can anyone think of anything I can do to make it stand up? I know my dad would have something rigged up from wood or whatever in no time, but my husband is not that way inclined unfortunately and doesn't really have any tools apart from screwdrivers :-P
It's only a cheapo 3foot xmas tree I will just have to get a new one if no-one has a genius solution, but I would rather keep my pennies in my purse :-)
Thanks in advance and hope there is a genius out there -)

Since it's only three foot, it won't be too top heavy. Have you got a decent sized flower pot / tub that you could fill with packed-down earth and then push the tree into it?
It would need to be fairly wide to keep it stable. Then you could wrap some Xmas wrapping paper around the pot to disguise it.

Hi there, Would it work if you stuck it in a large bucket with some dirt formt he garden like you would a real tree?
We had one of ours that the bottom broke so it is stuck up with practically a whole roll of sticky tape (brown stuff) to keep it together but if it goes competely this is what I would try.
You could buy the tree stands in B&Q last year but they were expensive so if tis a cheap tree not worth it.0 -
focus diy have 60% off their christmas decorations at the minute dont think a new one would cost a lot0

They sell some tree stands in Dunelm Mill, not sure if they would be suitable for your tree but worth having a look.

I used to use a bucket and wedge the trunk in with old bricks, rubble and offcuts of wood.
You can buy actual bases though from b&qWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
