Most BHS tills only accepting cash

I don't know whether this affects evrywhere, but the Wolvehampton BHS store was having a few problems today with their tills.
"Most of the tills" according to several assistants were only accepting hard cash - no cards of any kind at all.
Now, this could be a local glitch, but I wondered if anywhere else has been similarly inconvenienced? On a 20% off day as well! Its not wise to carry a lot of cash around so those paying by card had a long queue.
Am I being cynical? I did wonder if BHS were artificially trying to encourage cash to improve their cash flow? Customers could lose out on credit card extra warranty as well.

Don't know about BHS, but I was in Clintons this morning and they were having problems with their chip and pin. When I came to be served the system went down totally so they were also only accepting cash.Jan 09

It's probably just a glitch with the BACS system that controls card orders, it used to happen quite often with the tills in Morrison's when I worked there. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0
