I appreciate the stream of consciousness mode of your post. This is where my understanding failed me.
after obtaining the forms and getting them filled in by last employer /benefits agency sent them back and recieved a letter saying we had been accepted and payments would be made by the 20th of following month ,however today 29/10/08 i got a letter saying only 1 was covered and that the mortgage payment policy ran out on the 15/11/08 so as it hadnt been 30 days i wasnt covered
The only1 section refers to one person ? Can you rephrase matters ?

I can't work it out ether.

You seem to be saying you were paying ppi but stopped it for some reason.

can you clarify all the details of what ppi was/is in place.

i,ll try mortgage and loan ,both have pp so when i was made redundant i made a claim on the 20/10/2008 they said i had been accepted and payments to cover both would be made on the 20/11/08 just had a letter saying only 1 was now covered for the loan because the pp for the mortgage ran out on the 15/11/08 and my claim hadnt been 30 days prior to the date the policy ran out ,even though i have a letter saying i was accepted on both pp
phoned the insuranc company cardif pinnacle and they say thats the end the policy has run out but we where not aware of any such rules with it ,we believed because we made the claim before the policy ran out we where covered and especially after being told we where accepted
    thanks

Apparently I have used a dead metaphor in my last post, according to wikipedia.

Sometimes it is better to state the facts and describe the situation in a calm manner.
Perhaps try rephrasing your situation as if you were talking to your Grand Parents or someone who was a bit out of touch with the speed of everyday things.

OK I still don't understand what PPI cover you had was it for a fixed term from the start of the loans with a payment up front? or something else?

Yo will need to get out the T&C's to find out what the cover really was and see if you qualify. I don't thin anyone here can be for sure but those that have delt with a lot of policies may have a clue about what is "normal".

OK it is now to what it says in the T&C's of the policy, time to get them out and have a read to remind yourself what the rules were for making a claim and what would qualify.

I say remind because I don't expect you to remember all the fine points from when you read the T&C's 5 years ago.

i see what you mean ,to be honest never ever read t&c s as this was put together by a broker and built into deal at the time signed at home and we where just pleased to get it all sewn up and signed ,the part i dont understand was the letter stating we where covered then 4weeks later told we are not by the insurance company (still have letter )
    thanks

It is an important point in the history of things when what we sign up to actually makes any sense to those that signed up to it.
