Arghhh ridiculous stock problem

So any clever ideas for me? I like to have bottled stock in the cupboard, and recently came across Oxo concentrated lamb stock which I thought would be handy for the slow cooker. But the stuff is so thick, you can't get it out of the bottle - thought it was my cold kitchen but I've had it on the counter all week with lots of warm cooking going on, and still it doesn't flow. Have tried a few things:

the ketchup trick - standing it upside down (for hours on end!)
putting it in a bowl of hot water
adding a bit of hot water from the kettle and shaking

None of these worked and I'm seeing it as a challenge now! Any suggestions?

It sounds like there may be some kind of an airlock.
Can you poke a skewer or something into the bottle to try and get it flowing?

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
  • I had this too - wouldn't buy again but I eventually got enough hot water in to loosen it - took ages through the little hole but refused to throw it away!
