Yes you would think that 15% would be good news wouldn't you? However I took my voucher to B&Q today to buy some kitchen units to find the the price had DOUBLED since I checked them on-line the night before. A store employee said that 'a lot' of items had increased in the past few days and they had been very busy repricing shelves. Now let me see, a 100% increase with 15% off.....hmmm not so great.
This is not the first time in the last few months that I have walked away from purchases in this store because of dodgy pricing. You would think that they are mad to increase prices in this way in the current climate, but think about it, pre Christmas is a slow season for DIY sales, especially for things like new Kitchens, but I just wonder if there will suddenly be a 50% off sale in January, bringing things back to the original price? I think I might just drop a note to trading standards to make sure they keep to the letter, if not the spirit, of the law on this. Meanwhile I know that B&Q has not only lost a large sale but also a customer, for good. And I know I'm not alone.
Oh yes, and the on line price has now doubled too, overnight.0 -
Agree regarding kitchen units but they might argue that last week there was 40% discount (still doesn`t account for 100% increase) but the Madrid cloakroom suite has increased from £179 to £299 so how they could explain that away.0

Ahh..kitchens,that's a completely different kettle of fish..hard haggling needed to buy a kitchen..not a 15% voucher..0

They wouldn't accept my voucher in store today at first. The cashier told me it had to be from a newspaper

I explained it was an email and he said he couldn't accept it. I requested he check with someone else (with many annoyed people waiting behind me to pay) he called someone else over and they said no too-it was only by chance that a supervisor passing heard and told him that some people were getting emails and these would be fine. You'd think they would inform the staff of their offers!0 -
I got this in an email and gave to OH to buy £100 or so of electrical stuff for the log cabin to get power to it while I was at work
The loony completely forgot but plead his case to the lovely man on the trade counter (saying he'd be for the high jump) who gave him 20% off!!!!
Lucky swine!0
