Bargins in Falkirk district
Options
Hi all,
I was brough up in Falkirk District but moved down here to London 12 or so years ago. Although I visit my folks on a regular basis I dont really where to go when it comes to bargins in the Falkirk area.
I am up at Christmas and will want to talk my parents out for a meal, can anyone recommend a good value place to eat?
Any recommendations and suggestions for bargain hunting in this area are welcome!
Seasons Greetings,
Andy

Try The Wheelhouse, outside Camelon or its sister restaurant, The Boathouse at Auchenstary.0

The Dutch Inn in Skinflats is excellent and always busy book in advance.0

Thanks to both of you. I will look into these. Skinflats is probably too far away, we will have to get the bus!0

I had a lovely meal in the Park Hotel recently. they have a £10 a head three course meal deal....very nice.

The new Tapas bar 'La Banca' in Vicar Street which just opened last month is getting a good name for food and prices. Also opened is a new Indian restaurant D'Yoga in Grahams Road but heard mixed reviews about that one.
Frattelli's the Italian chain based on the canal bank was doing buy 1 course get the other half price but dont know if will still be doing it over xmas.0 -
best thing you can do is get on the train to either glasgow or edinburgh0

An update from this weeks Falkirk Herald. Frattellis are doing a 3 course meal with tea/coffee for £13.95.
Also Orchard Hotel doing OAP lunches for £4.950 -

Out of all the others i'd recommend these. I was in the tapas bar at the weekend and the food was really good. It wasnt too busy either. DYoga has a good name but i havent been yet.
The dutch inn is overrated In my opinion. Ive had a terrible meal and even worse service at Frattellis. I suppose its your pot luck really.
The Gulnar in Larbert is good for Indian food and the red lion in Larbert for Chinese.0 -
Agree with what you say about The Dutch Inn, last time I was there menu was stuck in a timewarp. Copper Top in Camelon has revamped menu I hear but dont know for sure. Best Indian IMO is Indian Harvest in Bainsford and for chinese try The Taiyuan just round the corner from La Banca0
