Could someone please tell me what the difference is in a Blu-ray disc combo drive and a Blu-ray disc combo drive reader? Which is best?

Possibly what they can write to. LG make a drive that can read and write to BluRay, DVD R/RW, CD R/RW so you can record to a Blue Ray blank; and also a cheaper drive that can read BluRay only so you can view the content but not record, though it will still write to DVD & CD.
Hope this helps0 -
Therefore is a Blu-ray disc combo drive better than a Blu-ray disc combo drive reader?

If you can afford the difference the combo drive that writes to BluRay is better than one that only reads the data.0
