Right this will be long and maybe jumbled!!! Just to warn you.
My oh has worked at the sameplace for nearly 4 years and the same company on and off since he was 16. (now 28) He started as a basic tyre and exhaust fitter earning approx £1000 per month. Over time as he got more experienced it went up to approx £1200-£1250 per month depending on bonus. Then he went on a course to train as a service technician and passed so now works at the same place as a service technician. Apparently his wages would rise and the bonus would be better depending on how many services they done a month. Sure enough for the first 4 months or so he was getting between £1350 and £1440!! Then a new manager started and in dec last year (the month after new manager started) his wage was only £1230? Anyway since then his highest wage has been £1335 and £1302, his wages have mainly been around the £1200-£1250 mark, once it was £1091! Once it was £1160! I dont understand why they are the same as when he was a basic tyre and exhaust fitter? He went on another course a few months back to train to spray cars and now goes to the spraying cars place (owned by the same company) when its the managers days off. (about once or twice a week) Apparently he would get better wages by spraying cars but his wages have stayed the same the past 2 months.
His area manager has told him today he cant have it both ways, as in earn service bonus as well as work at the other place. I dont understand this, why cant he earn service bonus for the services hes doing when not at the spraying cars place??
Also last month on his wage slip it said basic- (minus) £170. I understand this is where they take off money for being late, off work etc? Well my oh used to be late A LOT but has never had more than £60 taken off him, well this particular month he was only late 4 times by 1,2,3 and 4 minutes.(by the way i know he shouldnt be late at all, please dont pick on this bit as i got shot down in flames once before on here and im a bit nervous about posting!:o ) The other times he was in early, sometimes by 50 minutes! His manager said today that its because its off how much bonus he 'deserves' and they took how much he didnt off???
I was fuming at this, what the heck does that mean? Its a job, you dont get how much they think you deserve you get what you bloody work for!
He works his butt off at work, goes on any courses they send him on (no one else there will go on courses!) goes wherever they tell him, do whatever they tell him etc. I know for a fact other people who work there got to go home early to move house, roll in late or not at all because of hangovers and never get any thing said to them.(at least this has been the case in the past) (yet when i had pains in pregnancy he wasnt even allowed to come home, nor was he allowed half an hour to view a flat with me, i had to just take it without him seeing it)
Sorry if this makes no sense but i just dont know what to do about it! His manager seems to have something against him.

Sounds to me like his best course of action is to look for a new job. Maybe his manager is p**sed off at getting paid less than him? But unless he has a contract stating his pay and the bonuses he is entitled to (and evidence of meeting his bonuses) then I'm afraid the situation is unlikely to change.
The not giving him time of during you pregnancy and that sounds as if they are a crap company to work for, do the other employees get treated like this?0 -

I know he'd like to get an new job but he'd like more experence in spraying cars before he starts looking. His manager certainly doesnt get paid less than him, he gets thousands more a month.
Other employees seem to be given the time off when they want it, for example being able to go home a few hours early to sort out moving house boxes etc. Also he's always getting days off thats hes booked well in advance cancelled because they're short staffed.
You are probably right and it will never change. I just feel so bad for my oh, he just tries and tries and gets kicked back down over and over again.'They only had one cow!'0
