  • Also, I don't know if anyone else would agree with me, but wouldn't it be best to put the 50 quid you save each month into making extra payments on a card/loan?? It would help pay it off quicker, and then when you are debt free (or in more position to save) you could start up your direct debit again and start saving properly.

    Just a thought! :D

Simple solution: shop with a list as that will save money, you won't spend more than you planned

Shopping at the end of the day and freezing the discounted items can save some money

In regards to your savings, I agree Bargain Rzl and others that you should keep what you have saved but use the £50 a month you currently save against your more costly debts.

Also, where are your savings as if they arent already try to put them in a cash ISA. You will still have instant access to it but will get get tax free interest on it as long as you leave it in there.

Something else I would very much recommend on this site is looking at the budgeting section and spreasheet that Martin has created. Its really good at seeing where your money goes every month and by how much you are over spending.

    Good luck!
