to make myself feel better about that high figure I'll add that in 2008 I have completed total payments on my Student loan, a LloydsTSB loan (£2500) and a Northern Rock loan (£4000).
I just need to somehow extend that discipline to these remaining debts!0 -
hi
can i ask why your paying buildings and contents insurance? if you rent i beleive your landlord has to cover the buildings insurance so thats a small saving right there.
gDebt free 3 years early :j
Savings for house deposit - very healthy
Cash back earnt so far £14.570 -
I would start by calling all of the card providers and asking for a rate reduction and about balance transfers...... then try to shift money about to get as much on the lowest rate interest as possible. You pay the same amounts, but you are clearing debts instead of servicing interest. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
LB moment - March 2006. DFD - 1 June 2012!!! DEBT FREE!
May grocery challenge £45.61/£1200 -
I'd also reduce the amount you are spending on clothes until you get some of the debts down..... it hurts, but these things must be done. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

That SOA is a bit hard to read, could you stick the debt bits in http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html or the whole lot if you don't mind. It's much easier to see paymentsNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Full disclosure is that I'm now living with my mum (she's retired and on benefits so all round it's cheaper this way!) and my 'rent' is actually my contribution to the mortgage payments. These insurances are direct debits that I've set up to pay out 8 times a year monthly (last one in January. Have also completed paying water rates hich doesn't start again until April 09.
Always look for cheaper quotes aroung renewal time. Maybe I should I be looking more often0
