Hi there,
Sent away CCA requests to my credit card providers, 10 days ago and have had a reply from 1, American Express.
They say that because of the Electronic Communications Order 2004, that companies don't need a signed CCA.
So they sent me a standard 13 page CCA, which had no mention of my name or agreement number and wasn't signed and they say this is valid.

Are they right?
And if not how should I follow this up? Any templates?

Did you apply on line ?

When did you take out the account? If before April 2007 then they have to provide a'true copy of the original credit agreement'. That's one with your signature on it and certain terms and conditions must be on there as well. If after this date then I believe it doesn't need your sig.

They sent me an agreement but it wasn't signed by me

Just had a reply from Citibank and they claim that section 78 CCA 1974 does not require them to provide a signed copy of executed agreement but as per the CCR 1983 they just have to provide an unsigned copy of the agreement.
Is that right? And how should I handle it.
Any help would be very welcome, thanks!

Thats the 12 days up since i sent my CCA requests.
Can anyone please help and tell me what's the next letter I send?
I'd really appreciate some help.
I'm not too good on here yet and I have tried looking aorund for a template and can't find one, so I'd really really appreciate some help.

I too would like to know about this, I have been waiting 30 days for a signed agreement and they have ignored me completely, I sent the £1 PO as told and 1 sent an agreement the other 2 ignored it? what next

hi, i also have a query about what is covered by the CCA.
Having just tried to move from sky to virgin media, and having ordered the box only to find it cancelled (after they had taken my £75 for box) because they say I owe on an old account, which I dispute as I have never been with virgin before, i was with telewest in bout 2003 but am all paid up with them! I have seen on other threads that they are not covered by the CCA. My question, is if they do not fall under the CCA what are my rights as far as needing proof of this debt. if i owe it fair enough i will pay, but i am by far convinced as far as i am aware all debts were paid so to speak! Also are they legally entitled to keep my £75, paid towards the V+ box towards a debt that I dispute is even mine!!

Hi There - I have also sent CCA letters to 8 credit card companies. They haven't responded within the 12 days. What happens next? Can anyone advise on what to do now please? I feel like it is too good to be true!

Some of the other guys on other posts are still paying the Credit Card companies they haven't had a CCA response from yet, and some aren't. From reading all the answers to similar questions about 12 + 2 days response times I think people are suggesting not to pay any further towards outstanding credit card debt until they chase you, and then ingnore them or complain to Trading Standards about harrassment. Has anyone gone through this yet and come out the other side without having to pay anyone?
