Looks like we had a sudden shortage of housing in 2001. What happened did we suddenly start breeding like rabbits or did buy to let take off?

This is from the Fedral Reserve report. Below is the link to this report saying that our house problems are bigger.

It was all BTL speculation, 35 fold increase since 1997. A lot of people are going to get very burnt.

Who did that grap a 4 year old,

The last crash look like a small lull. And how come house prices are still over £200K and peaked at nearly £250K:rotfl:

If some one uses some proper figures like LR i might stop laughing.

Looking again, you do have a point. It's sort of the right shape but not particularly accurate.
  • Oh, that is just so anti-British. How dare you.

Repeat after me; "The US is where all problems originate from. We don't have our own parliament, legislature, banking system, nor a multitude of bureaucracies and quangoes, or a regulatory system. Nor the ability to think or act for ourselves. "

PS. Its an index...200 thru 250 is the index, its not prices...otherwise you'd have debates about the exchange rate at the time, etc.
  • I'm sure the Yanks would have preferred a scrappy one-liner from the Japanese ambassador, earlier on December 6th, to a multi-page, carefully typed explanation for why they were already bombing Pearl Harbour...

...sometimes its not the medium, its the detail that matters.

I presume they have converted it in to $ (which is stupid it should be 2 seperate graphs $'s & £'s overlaid) to support it but considering the £ as dropped 25% in the last 4 months it as made the gap look bigger.

It is funny how some people dream up the graphs to support an argument. I wonder if he could do one for us against iceland on todays exchange rates.;)
  • i am novice but surely index is different from price?

But your English language is fine is it? Yeah!:rotfl:
  • Yeah is in the Concise Oxford English Dictionary
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
