Bank won't increase overdraft - what do I do?

Hi all,
I checked my bank account this morning and realised that in a couple of days my mortgage and a couple of other payments will take me £16 over my overdraft limit. I phoned the bank to arrange a temporary overdraft of £50 until next week and they declined it. However they said they could arrange a presonal loan to pay off our credit card and overdraft! So what are my options? I'm now going to get a huge charge for the few days our account will be over the limit, even though I tried to avoid it by phoning them first.
Any help greatly appreciated

If you have a credit card, you could withdraw £20 from a cash machine and deposit the money into your account. As long as you are able to pay it back quickly it is a possible solution open to you however interest does mount up rapidly if it is not paid back soon.0

If you still can cash at cheque at the Post Office, deposit money into account, cheque takes a few days to clear by which time you are paid - it used to cost £5, but that's cheaper than bank charges.
Many years of being really skint taught me this trick.0 -
