Are you sure you " Need this" ,

Firstly the last lines of the page
""† Does not include damage caused maliciously, accidentally or by lightning floods or other extreme weather.
†† Charges may apply for work performed outside of normal hours.
*** Visits will be made during normal working hours.""

Conclude if its freezing and your pipes burst due to ice they probably wont fix it, if its hit by lightnining or power surge they probably wont fix it, by all means get a quote and work out the yearly cost put that in a bank account for " Boiler" and you will probably save up enough in 2 or 3 years to buy a new boiler,,,, if yours goes wrong in that time call someone out and pay them with the money you saved not getting cover.

Yes they have a 24 hour helpline but engineers will only attend during office hours eg unlikely to be weekends
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

Powergen have the worst reputation for customer service in the land, you can regularly see them on Watchdog regarding billing issues.
What do they know about gas appliances, they supply electicity.
I'd check out the equivalent British Gas offering.

But as roswell says do you really need this, put the money in the bank and you buy a new efficient boiler in 2-3 years.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
