Nudge your posts are soooo helpful...but this is not allowed at Tesco I am afraid.

Coupons may well scan because of the standard industry 99 barcode...but if they state store restrictions then Tesco cannot redeem them. Scanning is not even half the story as far as the longevity of the coupon policy is concerned - though it pains me to say this, Tesco getting their money back is actually just as important to us couponers IMHO.

This week I was chatting to a friendly coupon-accepting Till Manager who knows/tolerates me as a couponer and his stuff & he said 'I think there's a coupon in the Mail today but I haven't seen it yet?' I showed him the coupon from my copy as I was buying 3 to use in Waitrose. I pointed out the t&cs to get his direct take on it, explaining that I was only gonna use them in Waitrose but was I mistaken and would they be OK in T after all?

Answer was = they are NOT acceptable if they say the 'Sainsburys, Waitrose and Independent Stores ONLY' blurb.

So the only really good one today - as it's not a tiny amount - is just the £1.50 in the Telegraph which has no such store restrictions.

What's the problem with the info posted? The post was coded as set out in the posting instructions.

I'm sure smiths will let you use all 4!

(Plus I think you'll find others will accept it, despite what it says!:wink: )
  • No MOCs in either...

    :(

The problem was the original post did not state WH Smiths only!!!!

And I cannot believe you are suggesting, and/or condoning, using a MOC in Tescos which clearly states on it WH Smiths only!!!!! Its attitudes like that which will get the policy stopped for good!

And by the way, the posting instructions as in Quoias post are as follows:

    Important details are:
    The cost of the newspaper
    Whether it's a regional edition
    Page number
    Expiry date of the voucher
Whether it's store specific and has a barcode (POST the BARCODE NUMBER if possible
