Waitrose discount policy.

Sorry if i have done this wrong but I'm new. This works with Waitrose but not with Tesco. I have not tried the others. If you buy an item which has been reduced to clear, eg one which has a sticker added to it for half price or less, stick with this, if it was already subject to a BOGOF or three for two offer or similar, the cash discount for that offer still stands. I have bought loads of items this way and it has not failed yet. Example. I bought six Muller corner yogs marked down from 41p to 19p. That should have been 6X19=£1.14 BUT they were already subject to a three for £1.09 offer so the 14p per three discount was also taken off the bill twice for six so I got them for 86p or 14 pence per pot. Now thats a bargain.

Also works for Sainsburys and co-op - not sure about Asda/Morrisons etc but def doesnt work for Tesco!0

Sainsburys is always the best, if you get there at the right time they reduce everything down to 10p. Now some of these items can give you as much as £2 back so they pay for the rest of your shopping. I left the other days with 5 full bags and it cost me £1- lol0

the question is.....?????
When's the right time??0 -
30 mins before closing usually...The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

I find that my local co-op and Sainsburys do their somewhere between 5 and 6. They are both late night openers. There is nothing left in any of the stores 30 mins before closing, as that is usually leaving it to late. I think it's only Tesco in my area that seem to do it at the last minute.0

I used to work on the Meat and Fish counter at Sainsbury's Swansea and would usually start reducing the meat and fish on the aisle when my shift started at 5pm so would agree with comicmankev about the best time to go. The idea being to have ALL the reduced stuff cleared before closing time.
Depends a lot on the item though as sandwiches and sushi seem to go as soon as the red sticker hits them. When I worked there I used to be able to pick up all the reduced sushi for 10p a pack at the end of my shift at 10pm, but now I'm just a customer I find they have sold out well before that time0 -

My friend regularly shops at the Waitrose in Norwich and he says that the best time is Wednesday night about 7pm. He usually calls round our house on his way home laiden with fantastic bargains. Last night it was 4 cup cakes (which are usually £2.99 - can you believe that!) reduced to 49p. They must be mad (and to think anyone would pay that in the first place!) He often gets the 3 for 2 things on items that are reduced to clear - quite often he is paid to take them away!Heard the Shaggy Taxi Wind Up Phone Call?
