Shame the byki software doesn't run on Pocket PC's. Tried it on a desktop and was very impressed.

There is a free (basic) foreign language translator for PPC's at http://www.innersky.com/download/

Supported languages
English (15,812 words), French (10,282 words), Dutch(56,006 words), German(15,317 words), Spanish(5,420 words), Italian(3,793 words), Portuguese(18,372 words), Latin(2,389 words), Swedish(6,055 words).

There is a much better (read approx $80) PPC translator available at http://www.ectaco.com/PocketPC-Voice-Translator-items/ The price shown is $100 but they will discount down to about $80.

The Ectaco software allows you to speak into your PPC ("where is the nearest train station?") and it speaks back the translation in Spanish, French, German etc. Excellent, but unfortunately it doesn't appear to be able to translate backwards from foreign language to English. So even when you ask the nice French man in his native tongue where is the train station you can't understand his reply.

Anyone know of a full blown (translates spoken language both ways) PPC application?

Edit: It turns out the latest version of Ectaco software will translate both ways. Free delivery in the UK providing you use their https://www.ectaco.co.uk site.

I tried BYKI lite for a while, and was so impressed, that I paid good money for the full version, and have to say I am delighted with it.
