Im working new years eve so was thinking of booking into a hotel in Belfast city centre on new years day for the night with the girlfriend to keep the peace
Would any of the shops/ bars / restaurants be open on new years day or would we confined to the hotel?

Nearly all the big shops will be open - they open about 10am and close around 4 or 5pm. I think you'll find many of the bars open too.
I usually hit the sales on New Years Day as the shops aren't very busy.0 -
