HBOS and my vist to CAB

Had an appointment with CAB and just before I left a letter from HBOS arrives. First one I have had in two years but now they have updated my address partly updated I might add they have now decided they can double my charges to £1295!!!!!!!!!!!!. Funny that on 7th November the charges were £615. Anyway nice lady from CAB called them and that dept STILL have the wrong address not a shock really. They say the charges will be refunded by next Thursday and then they will look at the letter that was sent today. I am so weary fighting with these people and cannot believe that a bank can get things sooooooo wrong. On another note called RBS the other day to check my dd's had gone through and the nice man says would you like me to increase your overdraft? No thank you I reply. Oh well I see you have had a loan with us for 18months would you like to come and have a review of your loan? What for says I? I dont want you to sell me anything I am quite happy with the way things are says I. He says and I quote "We are responsible lenders and we try to make sure our customers are getting the best from us" Well I nearly fell off my chair laughing this must be the new line to customers. We are responsible but want to sell you more debt. Brilliant line

    'responsible lenders' - what a joke! Is that why most of the banks are mostly nationalised?

    Having the bank chaing you must be harrowing but it sounds like things are picking up a little.

    TBH I would have thought they would have been a bit firmer with HBOS but they probably have people a million times worse off then me they are trying to help. Am doing my huge letter of complaint over the weekend. Even after telling the CAB yesterday that this will be sorted out and I wont get any more calls, 8.19am today Albion debt collectors call and say sorry dialling error. Any calls tonight which I bet there will be I am going to make them listen whilst I list every thing they have done to me starting with my mail going to the wrong addy for nearly two years which has led to this mess. I might put my letter up here to see what peeps think and to give me any advice. Agree with you about the "responsible lenders" bit I think that is just class. The scary thing is Andy a few months ago before my light bulb moment I would have taken them up on this and got myself even further in debt.
