    if the debt is less than 6 years old (you have amde a payment or been defaulted it will show on your credit record.

    If you request that, then all the DCAs will come running. So it might be best to sort out the CCJ first and then start looking.

    Also bear in mind that debts that age, if enforceable, will often have bene sold several times to lower and lower ranks for debt collectors. Who ever has a £1000 debt now diid not pay £1000 for it and if you save up some money and wait for them to come to you, you may well be able to do full and final settlements on the accounts for about 20% of the original value. Some were recently offered at 5-15%.
