Offer first without shown Charge's ??

Hi
I applied to Halifax to get my credit card charges back, and they have offered me £120 but have not told me what my charges were or supplied me with any information that I asked for in my letter to them, they say this is a 'goodwill' gesture, and near xmas this is tempting, but has anyone else had an offer like this, as everyone else I know has had a full list of charges before an offer has been made as I am unsure what to do.
