One Day Sales - Is this a little cheeky?

Hello,
I am sat in amongst lots of bits and bobs that I have bought for Christmas, not really sure what to do with it all, as VAT is about to come off, and there is/are a one day sale or two coming up where I might get what I have already got a bit cheaper......
So.....I am considering, wrapping up what I have got. Buying it all again next week in the one day sale.....taking the receipts that I have already with me, buying at the lower price....swapping the receipts and returning those goods and therefore only paying the lower price. Is that really bad to it that way, or should I wait, go into town with everything, return it and then go back and get it again? Whichever way I am doing it, it still means I pay the lower price, and I know that I have the items already if they do fly off the shelves (hence why I was happy to buy at the higher price just in case).
If someone could advise whether this is ok, that would be great...although any extra pennies would be very grateful...even if it only ends up being a few pennies on the VAT!! Which doesn't yet seem to be being taken off the prices at M&S!
Many thanks

Well, if you're providing a valid reciept with the same product, then M&S will refund you that money. So yes, in theory you'll be able to do it.
As for integrity - well thats a different issue entirely - let your conscience be the judge!
Personally if its only a few quid I doubt it would be worth the hassle of re-buying and then returning a lot of stuff, but if its to save say £50 then certainly I'd probably take the trouble to do it.0 -
Thanks Katie,
That's what I thought...what difference does it make so long as they are the same products....at the end of the day, they still get their money, and I get my things.......
I have a huge conscience, but even if it does only save me 20p, as my mum always tells me, when you haven't got much 20p is a lot of money. Yes, it will play on my mind though......!! Oh well, these are desperate times as the media keep infomring me, and therefore desperate times call for desperate measures!! I'm going to wrap up my stuffs!! Wooohoooo x x0 -
Too right! I've done that in Monsoon with their sale0

bought a sony cd player for the wife 2 Christmas ago from argos, after christmas it was £60 cheaper. went and bought it again and took it from the counter and straight back to returns. The woman who served me on the till was then working on returns, no problems returning at all.0

I got some gorgeous boots last week for £120. This week the store had a discount day and the boots went down to £80!!! I didn't know the store was having the one day sale, so didn't have my orginal boots with me to take back and buy again... and so bought another pair at the reduced price. Only they didn't actually have my size and weren't planning to get any more in. So I bought a smaller size! Now I want to take back the new boots with the £120 receipt. Only I'm not sure now because the bar codes on the receipts are different and a reference no on the receipt and box will be different. There is no mention on the receipt of the boots size tho. Do you think I'll get away with it?? Maybe I could put the new boots in the old box and use the old receipt for my refund - so the ref no on the box and rec match!! Shoes do get put into the wrong boxes don't they!!? Or do they not check barcodes and nos? I'm sure if you return something they can the receipt... what would that display?
Oh dear.. was it worth the hassle!?:o£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -

Is there a ref number or bar code on the receipt, the size may be in there.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
