Reason for leaving employment

OP - are you on JSA now? If so, DWP are classified as your employer at the moment so they will issue you a P45 when you sign off. I am in the same boat and am leaving them off my CV. As far as new employers are concerned I have been unemployed 1 week longer than i actually have0

My only concern with not even mentioning the week's work is that your P45 will tell a different story, as they will be the named employer on it. Perhaps as someone suggested you can indicate that it was a work-trial or a week's temping or freelancing... I have a three week job on my CV which I've put down as a freelance postion.
You can either say you haven't received one yet and fill out a P46, or send your P45 straight to the tax office

Also the person dealing with the P45 is not going to be the person who interviewed you (unless the job is in payroll or maybe personnel). I really don't think P45 is an issue at all.0

Surely it depends on the size of the company? When interviewed by a small company I was instructed to give my P45 to my line manager (who had interviewed me and obviously seen my CV) and they passed it onto the finance team...
If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
I would leave it out of my CV if poss, If on JSA they will be issuing you an up to date P45 when you sign off. If you are not on JSA try & get a weeks temp work somewhere then they will be your last employer & the reason you left was that it was temp work.
The only exception is if you take a job where they insist on a 'checkable work history', certain occupations do this and they even check the dates you were on JSA. In that situation you are best off being honest, when it happened to me I just said that the job wasn't as expected from the advertisement & interview.0
