If you had the chance to buy a car worth £5k for £3k as a gift would you?....and then subsequently sell it for a profit to pay off debts???? I dont know cos I feel well guilty

I'd feel guilty too if it was as a gift.

Would I? No. But I have extreme morals.

Others would say go for it, but the mere fact you are asking shows you aren't comfortable with doing it. Perhaps you could ask the gifter if they would mind you doing so, explaining it is to pay off debts?

Depends on whether the person you bought it from knows it is worth £5000 and how close they are to you..

If he/she was only expecting £3000 for it I would sell and give them half of the profits..

If it's someone you know really well like family and they know it's worth £5K then I would hold on to it for a few months then sell it... you might get less for it but better that than falling out over it.. just say you couldn't afford to run it and could still give them a wee cut of the profit..

it's a !!!!!! having morals sometimes!!!
