Could have been! :rotfl::rotfl: Our branch was next door to a little family butchers shop, & I used to try and go on my break when I saw a red & white stripey apron in the queue! ;)

think its lemsips and duvets all round tonight then
Hi, Ive never posted on this thread before but i do some times have a read through and i have a bit of a tip ...
I've been in bed with the flu for a week and a half now (Bored silly I am!) and have been left with this hideous hacking cough, had to pop in to see the nurse at my GP today and she asked if i'd taken anything for the flu and i replied just the usual lemsip and paracetemol routine and she said that lemsip is useless the only stuff that works in it is paracetemol and a bit of caffine, plus the fact that its warm, she suggested Ginger Cordial (found it in the organic Isle at Sainsubrys, you get it in a bottle like ribena! but i think a few slices of fresh ginger would do if you couldn't find it) put about an inch and a halfs worth in the bottom of a mug with hot water, lemon, honey and a bit of sugar ... and i've gotta say its helping my cough and sore throat so much more than the lemsip plus you can have it when ever you want and take paracetemol too :p thought i'd share it as there seem to be a few sufferers on here!

  • Has anybody had to wait a long time for a prize before? I won a washing machine (amazing!) at the beginning of September. It was a Guardian competition and their marketing team gave a time frame for the washing machine company (LG) to get in touch to arrange delivery. That time went by, I contacted the Guardian...another 4weeks...that time elapsed...it's now supposed to be before the end of this month for LG to contact the winners and another 4 weeks then for delivery to take place. But The Guardian were still waiting for definite confirmation from LG that this would be so. The person I've been emailing at the Guardian said she'd contact me as soon as she knew for certain (that was just over a week ago I think.)

I'm beginning to think the machine will never arrive.....
  • Just keep annoying them and it will come jelly ,never had this problem yet so fingers crossed.

PP and little jem hope you feel better soon, wine not helping my ear:rolleyes:
