Hello
I am currently looking for work (temp or perm) but the agencies say things are really slow at the moment and nothing might turn up until after Christmas.
My outgoings are £170 bills (due at the beginning of each month) including a loan of £1000 from Natwest which is half paid off.
Natwest overdraft limit - (£1000) - currently (£730)
Natwest credit card - (£1200 limit) - currently (£1050)
My bills will be due around the 1st December so that'll leave me (£900) which means I won't be able to pay next months bills!
I have had to sell my digital camera and my ipod and my CD collection and I have nothing left to sell!
What are my options? I just need a few hundred pounds to tide me over until end of January when I will hopefully have some kind of gainful employment.
Is it possible for me to open a new account with another bank (so I can use the overdraft to tide me over) or will they refuse me due to not having a job or due to my credit history? I have an Alliance & Leicester First Save Account but don't think it has an overdraft facility.
Also, I haven't been in the country for a long time so not sure if I qualify for jobseekers allowance due to lack of National Insurance contributions.
Any help would be appreciated.

I live with my parents but they're away until January.0 -
surely, you must be entitled to some income/benefits?
can your parents not help in any way?0 -
My parents can only really afford the food + bills for the next 2 months. They're in Ireland visiting a sick relative. One is retired the other has just been made redundant.0

Which country are you from? SA perhaps?
Are you on a visa? Ancestoral?
If you are, you have no recourse to public funds - ask me I know! I can't claim any benefit at all even if I am out of work!
You've come to the right place to find some advice!0 -
I'm British.0

ok then as far as I know, you will be entitled to job seekers - get yourself an appointment at the job centre and they'll sort out what benefits you are entitled to...
You did say you've not been in the country very long so I assumed you were here on a visa or some sort! Sorry!0
