Can you buy the Tesco stamps with the Tesco Clubcard Plus Account?

    Hi All,

I might do similar in ASDA, buy £144 of points with GE Money Everyday card (thus 3% back on the £144), then of course £6 'free' from ASDA.

If you go for this in the days just before the bonus payout, IIRC GE Money statments are all produced (mine is anyway) on the 18th of any given month - Therefore you wouldn't even be billed for the £144 until mid January!

    I think!

    Cheers

No - stamps can only be bought with £1 coins from the stamp vending machines behind the checkouts usually.

You collect 49 stamps on a card worth £49, but if you use the card during December they will give you another £1 bonus making it worth £50 for each completed card.

Martin's article states that you need to use the whole card too - thats incorrect! The will (and should) give you CASH change on the cards, regardless of how much you spent from the card.

I have known people who have saved a £49 card, but decided they needed the cash back - so they bought a 30p carton of Orange juice with the card, and got £48.70 cash back from the card.

Theres nothing stopping you filling a card with £49 worth of stamps as you arrive in store to do your shopping in December, but be warey of the stamp machines running out of stamps - they get very busy in December/January, and they need someone specially instore to refill them - so usually a wait to get them refilled!

It's also worth noting that Tesco Clubcard Christmas Savers also allows you to save for christmas but electronically through the tills with your Clubcard - any 'despoit' can be made to your Xmas Savers account in 50p multiples, which are then converted to special 'bonus' vouchers (NOT normal clubcard vouchers) in November and sent to you. Your normal Clubcard points are also accumilated through the year and sent to you again in November.

If you didnt want it to affect your Clubcard vouchers throughout the year, you can pick up a 2nd Clubcard and use it exclusively for Xmas Savers (by crediting it at the CSD desk or in a seperate transaction from your shopping) as many people do.

Only problem is you cannot draw on the Xmas Savers account at any point like the cards, and you need to join by picking up a leaflet instore and scanning it with your card before May of the saving year if I remember correctly.

You can also use your Clubcard+ etc to pay for the 'Xmas Savers', as its processed through a normal sales transaction (e.g. added to the end of your shopping bill), and can be paid with all the usual tenders.

    Hope that helps!
Yes, I work for Mr T, but anything I say is not given as an official response or representation from Mr T, and is usually best taken with a pinch of salt, lightly toasted and served with a chardonnay or rose wine. Mmmmmmm.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I can't see any benefit to the Xmas Savers club. Your money is tied up till Xmas, with no interest or bonus paid.
