What about a list of things that we used to have fun with that you can't find anywhere.
I would be interetsed to know if anyone has seen the clear resin kits that used to be very popular. You could make brooches, keyrings, Paperwieghts. Etc.
The 'Demo' model was usually an old watch, dismantled and all of the parts cast in a clear plastic cube. they were also very good for giving mum/nan a picture of yourself encased in hard plastic.
Anyone else have memories of things from the past that they would like to find again? Someone on here might have a solution for you.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

You can still get clear casting resin, though I suspect it is a different product to the ones remember due to H&S regs.

I had one of those kits as a child. It was called something like 'Plasticraft'. My memory is that the resin smelled very strongly of solvents and probably would fall foul of current legislation. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

I had one of those kits. I rather stupidly encased an unusual coin in it, then changed my mind. Try as I might sawing off the excess plastic with a hacksaw I never managed to get it out, and still have it to this day - a plastic lump, covered with hacksaw marks!! Anyone know how I can reverse the effect without damaging the contents?!!Heard the Shaggy Taxi Wind Up Phone Call?

One way to remove resin from reinforcing fibres is to burn it off. It's usually done in a high temperature oven.

I had one of the Plasticraft kits!!!! loved it!!! Apparently they were banned because of the fumes. Made my Dad some Liverpool FC cufflinks and and my nana a shell filled paper weight.
Cider lollies.........now you're talking..........they were lovely.....
Just had a look a the list - the Mastermind game was great - I played with it for years.
I had a Peter Powell kite as well, but it tore on holiday when I was 6 :-( Apparently they are like gold dust now.
And....I have to confess that after being given one of the original Rubik's Cubes, I cheated and started moving the stickers around so it looked like I had completed more than the one side that most people could do! Unfortunately (and I was only 10!!), when I proudly showed my teacher, he pointed out that two sides had a white sticker in the centre.........whoops......... :rotfl:"Stay Wonky":D
