Bankrupt Apr, OR Interview May. Now another interview?

I went bankrupt towards the end of April, and had my face to face OR interview in early May.

Come home today to find a letter saying that 'The OR requires further information in connection with you bankruptcy" and I am to attend at 2pm on 9th December.

Any words of comfort folks, as now I'm panicking again, as I thought all this was behind me?

could all be nothing.....might be a new OR dealing with your case or they may be in need of some more information, have you tried ringing them to ask why?

Phoning, now thats too logical :)

Nothing was said about my SoA at my first interview, and I've let my house be repossessed since then, so I suppose there is plenty they could still want to know

Yeah, it did cross my mind, I just don't want to be seen to be bothering them, and sometimes I think ignorance may be the better option for the meeting!

Been for the 2nd interview today. Since my first interview in May she'd got all my past statements (2 lever arch folders full!) and was asking me a few pretty specific questions, where certain deposits came from etc, if I'd had any loans I'd not declared, details of specific spendings, earnings etc. She was very thorough but in no way patronising or nasty.

At the end of the interview she told me I'd been asked back as they needed to determine if I'd been building up debt with no intention of paying it back and whether they'd need to impose a BRO/BRU. She then stated she doesn't have the final decision, but she was satisfied with my answers and she would recommend that I don't get one.

    Just glad it's over, again.......
  • Hi mej....How for back do they go with the statements, if you don't mind me asking??

    12 months, 2 years 3 or more??

Think I'm gonna struggle to remember if it goes too far back

    Thanks n good luck

It looked like she'd got statements back for ages how much paperwork they'd got. Although all the questions she asked me related to the 12-18months prior to going bankrupt.

There were questions like 'how much debt did you accrue in the 12 months before bankruptcy'. I just stated that I didn't know without looking through statements, but I didn't think it was a significant amount. What I wanted to say was "you've got the effin statements in front of you, why don't you take a look!".

There were a couple of questions she asked me that I didn't know or couldn't remember, and she didn't make a deal of it.

My recommendation would just to be honest, if you don't remember just say so, and don't try and blag it. I think they appreciate that a lot more.
  • Cheers, I think I might be ok. Just didn't really want him to go as far back as my last divorce in 2005

It wasnt exactly going through things in excessive detail, but just general queries of that last year or so, and things they'd obviously picked up on by looking at the statements
  • Slay if an OR wants he can go back up to 5 years but the majority on here have found that they only ask for 1-2 years worth.
