Default Notices!!!!

I have been with Chiltern Debt Management for some years now when i fell into financial trouble in 2002.

however i am still getting default notices on my credit file from the companies being dealt with by chiltern on my credit file!!!

is it legal for them to still issue me with default notices after all these years? if they hadn't my credit file would be far more healthier than it looks now!!

hi Garry. I was with chiltern for about a year and left as they were a pile of....*blows raspberry to illustrate my point* in short, yes the creditors can defualt at whatever stage they wish. My biggest debt with nationwide are still putting me down as being 6 months in arrears and have never defaulted me which is just knackering my credit rating even more!
My advice would be to see if you can switch to CCCS or self administer your DMP as i do now. your creditors will be happy id you explain that the fee you are paying chiltern each month will be split between them. PM me if you want any advice. One thing though the creditors cannot default a paymetn more than once. so if they have done then seek advice again from CCCS or from CAB to rectify this. Good luck! • thankyou Pania i tried going with the CCCS but i am essentially extremely lazy by my own admission and do not get any time to deal with my creditors directly which is why i pay Chiltern.

The thing that bugs me most is that i have been with chiltern for 6 years paying off my debt which was initially £35K i managed to remortgage a couple of years ago and pay off £15K i am now left with a very small debt compared to most around £5500 but they say i will not be debt free for another 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wonder why they didn't offer me an IVA? if they did i would have been debt free for over a year now!!! and now my debt is to small to do anything about!!
