For the parents of children with type 1 diabetes there is a free boy or girl teddy bear to teach about injections and blood testing (you can actually inject the teddy on specific injection sites and the teddy has a diabetes identity bracelet) You apply here from Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, you also get a book, CD and loads of other goodies from them to explain about diabetes.

DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT AN INSULIN DEPENDANT TYPE 1 DIABETIC SO GENUINE PEOPLE DO NOT MISS OUT

This offer is genuine and we received the bear and goodie bag a long time ago now for my son and niece and at the time they were both 12 and loved the bear (i still think they have a choice of male RUFUS or female RUBY). The travel holdall that came with it came with the kids to Florida on holiday and was able to hold all their equipment.

Sold out. I would have loved one of these for my DD's 3 year old niece (through her marriage) who was diagnosed the week before Christmas after becoming very, very ill. She's gets more upset at the injections as the days go on and this would maybe have helped.
