The NEW - pay off £20,000 (ish) by Christmas 2009 thread got me thinking.
Looking at my snowball I've paid £7k off this year, and I feel everything has been thrown at me in that time.
The thing is I'm not even trying hard enough, my grocery budgets go out of the window in days, my meal planning sucks, and every white good/mechanical item/gadget has let me down one way or another.
Reading the threads there are a lot of people down in the dumps and I myself am just seeing the fog clearing. Stopped relying on alcohol to see me through the dark moments just need to stop relying on nicotene.
I need more positive thinking, less procrastination and faffing.
I've survived the year from hell and now I'm going to turn my/our lives around in 2009.
Hate to prove my teachers of the 1980's right with the 'must try harder' cliche, but they are spot on at the moment. Just think what I can do if I put some effort in !

You have to be in the right frame of mind though don't you!
You know the problems because you've just listed them down!
I say, write the list in big letters and stick it on the fridge, then tackle one item at a time and cross them off - feels great!
As long as you're not giving up.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
